DUPLEX PRESENTS
FRANCES YEOLAND
10% CYAN
JUN 11 - JUL 15, 2022
10% cyan: A most beautiful blue. Of eyes, and matte paper, and socks that have been through the wash with something darker. Pale, cold and light. I tell all the girls my favorite color is 10% cyan. It’s a color that can be felt, can be breathed, can be held inside your body. It can run through your veins, it can fall from your eyes. A color that follows you. Sometimes I drag it on a string behind me, sometimes it bursts into light in front of me. Mostly it poured from my father’s eyes to mine. Water. The carpet of my childhood home. This body of work is like a sea, layered and ever changing. Each piece is a study of grief, of the beauty and shape of sadness.
